Precautions for Harvesting Wheat

2022-03-29

"Sanxia" production is imminent, and correct operation of the wheat combine harvester can avoid machine failure and improve work efficiency.

1. Start steadily. At the start, increase the throttle smoothly, so that the harvester reaches the rated speed before cutting. When turning and reversing when encountering obstacles, raise the header, reduce the throttle, and stop cutting.

2. The working speed should be controlled. Under normal circumstances, use the II gear operation. When the wheat is dense, the plant is large, and the yield is high, the 1st gear can be used; when the wheat is sparse, short and the yield is low, the 3rd gear can be used. When there is fog and dew and rain in the morning and evening, the speed should be lower because the wheat straw is wet, and the speed can be higher around noon when the wheat straw is dry.

3. Adjust the speed of the reel. Under normal circumstances, its peripheral speed should be 1.5 times the forward speed of the unit. It is necessary to ensure that the reel can move the wheat to the cutter for cutting, and to avoid the loss of the wheat grains caused by the high speed of the reel. .

4. Pay attention to the cutting width. When the load allows, work should be done at full width or close to full width as much as possible. At this time, the operation efficiency is high, but no missed cuts should occur to reduce harvesting losses.

5. Adjust the height of the header. In order to facilitate post-cut farming and sowing operations, the stubble should be as low as possible, which is also an important measure to harvest lodging wheat and reduce cutting and missing ears, but the height of the header should not be less than 150px, so as not to cut the soil and accelerate the wear of the cutter. According to the requirements of the operation quality standard, the height of the stubble shall not exceed 375px.

6. There are tricks to walking routes. 1. The harvesting adopts clockwise centripetal rotation; 2. It adopts counterclockwise centripetal rotation for harvesting. In order to facilitate the unloading of grain on the left side and reduce empty lines, clockwise and centripetal rotation is often used for harvesting. For lodging wheat, it should be harvested in reverse or sideways to reduce the loss of wheat harvesting.
